Provider overview

Newcastle University was formally established in 1963, but its origins as a college of Durham University go back to 1834. It is a member of the Russell Group of research-focused universities and currently has over 24,000 students in Newcastle and over 5,600 members of staff. It has three faculties - Medical Sciences; Science, Agriculture and Engineering; and Humanities and Social Sciences and covers a very wide range of disciplines. The University has strong links with many professional bodies which accredit our programmes as well as strong links with employers in the region. Newcastle University looks forward to developing apprenticeship training in a number of areas in conjunction with employers.
