Training provider overview

Established in 2003, Colchester Teacher Training Consortium (CTTC) currently works with over 100 schools in Essex and Suffolk to train high-quality primary and secondary school teachers. CTTC offers a Level 6 Postgraduate Teacher apprenticeship.

Graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024, the final report commented that, “trainees attending CTTC are prepared superbly well to be teachers of tomorrow” and “trainees benefit from the highest quality training and support”.

The apprenticeship combines practical teaching with professional training, allowing apprentices to meet the Teachers’ Standards for Qualified Teacher Status and the End Point Assessment criteria. Apprentices can also gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
