Provider overview

The Heritage Engineering Marine Technician apprenticeship is designed to give anyone interested in boat restoration a good background into a wide range of skills, knowledge and behaviours. These include joinery and engineering skills, knowledge of maintenance and repair, and includes an understanding of the heritage and history of historic boats and ships. All apprentices will get the added benefit of spending time on our restored boats – Pioneer, Priscilla, Trinity and Jassa. The programme is delivered in our boatyard in Brightlingsea, on a block release system, with apprentices joining us for 1 week every month. We start a new group of apprentices every year, with the next group expected to start in Spring 2025.
