The Astra SCITT, based at Dr Challoner's Grammar School, works in partnership with over 60 schools in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas to provide high quality Initial Teacher Training. We cover both primary and secondary phases, including the full range of secondary subjects.

In person professional training takes place weekly, blending both theory and practice, and apprentices are supported by a team of specialist subject and visiting tutors.

Established in 2014, over 550 new teachers have qualified through Astra routes into teaching and we are pleased to be able offer apprenticeship training from September 2024.
