The Academy works in partnership with employers, apprentices and full and part-time students across Yorkshire with academies in Scarborough and Whitby. Since 1999 The Academy has delivered training for the hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy industry and was graded good at inspection (Ofsted. Jan 2023).

The Academy offers Level 2 apprenticeships in Barbering, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy and Level 3 apprenticeships in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Holistics. Apprentices may be required to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills in English and or maths. It also offers provision at level 3 in Hairdressing, Beauty and Holistics for adults.
