Entry requirements

Set by employer. Candidates will have to pass background and security checks.

What apprentices will learn
  • assessing the needs of people with visual impairments
  • group and individual rehabilitation
  • support and awareness training for people with visual impairments
  • evaluating the effects visual impairment and/or deaf-blindness have on people
  • training, educating and supporting people to use assistive and standard technology
  • apprentices without level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C) English and maths will need to achieve this before taking the end-point assessment
Professional registration

Apprentices will be eligible to apply to join the Rehabilitation Workers Professional Network.
