Set by employer, but candidates will be expected to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs, including maths and English; or a level 2 apprenticeship.

- prepare initial design briefs and detailed designs via a digital workflow
- simple construction simulations and logistic planning using a digital workflow

- Qualifications

- BTEC level 3 construction and the built environment
- NVQ level 3 diploma in built environment design
- apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this before taking the end-point assessment
- Professional registration

Apprentices will be eligible to register as a technician or associate with one of the following professional institutions:
- The Chartered Institute of Building as an associate construction manager (ACIOB)
- The Institution of Civil Engineers as a civil engineering technician (EngTech TMICE)
- The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a technician surveyor (AssocRICS)
- The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers as a building services engineering technician (EngTech LCIBSE)
- The Institution of Engineering and Technology as an associate technician (AIET)
